Scarlet Minor and the Renegade

On the eve of his 17th birthday at Buccaneers Bay, Scarlet Rosendale—raised at his parents’ inn, “The Nook”—learns of his great-grandfather’s pirate legacy and the five Scrolls of Bodiaka meant for him. The cursed ship Renegade docks
in the Bay, pulling Scarlet into a feud tied to an ancient curse and his family’s past. A diner accident darkens the day, while rumors swirl and the Poladia (police)investigate.

Strongy—a one-armed former captive of the Renegade—seeks out Scarlet,explains the crew’s hunt for him, and presents a hollow wooden stump inscribed “maridose instigata,” figuratively the “Key to the Mouth of Devil’s
Gate at the Twin Pikes of Nebo.” Old Mr. Rugga oversees a night of transformation as the “power of Bodiaka”
passes to Scarlet, marking him protector of its truths.

Friends and family scramble through markets and safe houses as pirates clash with the Poladia, and Ambioca—the Renegade’s deadly enforcer—presses the pursuit.

In a final melee at the Bay, Scarlet and his parents escape aboard the Mamaladi Stormer while Ambioca vows to fight another day—sending Scarlet toward his next destiny.
